The Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season is now underway with the start of the Masters and we’re profiling all 32 teams, one per day.

Day 31: Team Whyte

Lineup: Ross Whyte (skip), Robin Brydone (third), Duncan McFadzean (second), Euan Kyle (lead)

Hometown: Stirling, Scotland

Team Whyte are making their Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling top-tier debut here at the Masters.

Whyte has made two appearances at the world championship, 2019 and 2021, serving as the alternate for Scotland’s Team Mouat. He earned a silver medal with the squad this year in the Calgary bubble. Whyte also captured gold at the European Championships as Team Mouat’s alternate. He will also join the team for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.

Whyte skipped Scotland to consecutive medals at the world junior championships picking up silver in 2018 and bronze in 2019.

Brydone (third), Kyle (lead) and McFadzean (alternate) were part of Whyte’s silver medal-winning team at the 2018 world juniors. McFadzean (now at third) and Kyle (still at lead) also earned bronze the following year.

This is the third season for the team with their current lineup.

The Masters kicks off the 2021-22 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season and is now underway running through to Sunday at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex in Oakville, Ontario. Tickets are still available, CLICK HERE to purchase yours today.
