30 teams in 30 days — Day 2: Team Jacobs

We’re profiling 30 teams — one per day — leading up to the start of the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season at the Masters.

Day 2: Team Jacobs

Lineup: Brad Jacobs (skip), Marc Kennedy (third), E.J. Harnden (second), Ryan Harnden (lead)

Home club: Community First CC; Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

Jacobs has won seven men’s titles in the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling including three in a row during the 2019-20 season taking the KIOTI Tractor Tour Challenge, BOOST National and Meridian Canadian Open. The team’s superb season also earned them the 2019-20 Pinty’s Cup.

The Masters is the only one of the four Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling majors missing from their resume. Jacobs is looking to become just the sixth skip to complete a career Grand Slam.

Jacobs captured the Brier and world silver medal in 2013 plus Olympic gold in 2014. His first Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling title came at the 2015 Players’ Championship at Ryerson’s Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto.

Kennedy joined Team Jacobs in 2019 after a brief hiatus from competitive curling. The St. Albert, Alta., native is one of the most decorated curlers in the game as an Olympic gold medallist, two-time world champion, three-time Brier champion and winner of 15 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling titles.

The Masters kicks off the 2021-22 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season and runs Oct. 19-24 at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex in Oakville, Ontario. Tickets are now available, CLICK HERE to purchase yours today.
