With 30 days to go until the start of the Masters, we’re profiling 30 teams — one per day — to get ready for the return of the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling.

Day 1: Team Hasselborg

Lineup: Anna Hasselborg (skip), Sara McManus (third), Agnes Knochenhauer (second), Sofia Mabergs (lead)

Home club: Sundbybergs CK; Sundbyberg, Sweden

Team Hasselborg have claimed five titles in the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling series including three in a row during the 2019-20 season taking the KIOTI Tractor Tour Challenge (Tier 1), BOOST National and Meridian Canadian Open women’s championships.

Hasselborg captured Olympic gold for Sweden at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Games and earned back-to-back silver medals at the women’s worlds in 2018 and 2019. The team has competed in the past four European Championships women’s finals with consecutive gold medals in 2018 and 2019.

Team Hasselborg won the 2018 Masters women’s title in Truro, Nova Scotia, defeating Team Homan in the final. Down by two, Hasselborg hit to score three points in the eighth end to win 8-7.

The Masters kicks off the 2021-22 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season and runs Oct. 19-24 at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex in Oakville, Ontario. Tickets are now available, CLICK HERE to purchase yours today.
