Champions Cup Format & Qualification

Format

The Humpty’s Champions Cup features 12 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams split into three pools of four teams for round-robin play.

Qualification

The Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling has outlined the 12 events throughout the curling season that will act as qualifiers to the Humpty’s Champions Cup event with the winning teams securing a spot. In the event of duplicate winners of the qualifying events, World Curling Tour event winners will be invited based on the strength of field of the event. The strength of field events will be based on year-to-date-standings as of Feb. 15, 2020.

In the event that a single team wins both the Princess Auto Players’ Championship and Humpty’s Champions Cup in the previous season (which are both qualifying events for following season’s Humpty’s Champions Cup), the Pinty’s Cup winners from that previous season will be awarded a spot. In the event that the same team wins all three, a winning team from a top WCT event based on strength of field will be invited to participate.
