St. John’s to host KIOTI National in 2024

The Grand Slam of Curling is returning to St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, next season.

The series announced Wednesday that Mary Brown’s Centre will host the KIOTI National taking place Nov. 26 to Dec. 1, 2024.

One of the original events in the Grand Slam of Curling, the KIOTI National features 16 of the top men’s teams and 16 of the top women’s teams from around the world.

Early bird full tournament passes are now on sale at the Mary Brown’s Centre box office and online at mbcentre.ca.

Sale dates for weekend passes and single draw tickets will be announced in the coming months. More details including volunteer opportunities, qualified teams plus draw and broadcast schedules will be announced at later dates as well.

The 2024 KIOTI National will be the fifth Grand Slam of Curling tournament held in St. John’s and ninth in Newfoundland and Labrador. The province most recently hosted the 2019 National in Conception Bay South.

This year’s event took place last month in Pictou County, N.S., with Italy’s Team Retornaz and South Korea’s Team Gim posting perfect records en route to the KIOTI National titles.

The current Grand Slam of Curling season resumes with the WFG Masters, Dec. 12-17, at Saskatoon’s Merlis Belsher Place.
