Donations, pink glowsticks honour anthem singer St Pierre

Volunteers collected donations and fans waved pink glowsticks during the opening draw of the Masters in North Bay, Ont., in honour of the anthem singer Jodi St Pierre.

“I was incredibly honored to be asked to sing the anthem and so inspired by the support of my community,” St Pierre said. “My heart is full.”

A total of $2,000 was raised during the opening draw of the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling event on Oct. 22.

Funds are supporting the Cancer Care Close to Home campaign.

Organized by Stacey Dobbin, Office Administrator at the Granite Club, and more than 16 volunteers, donations were collected and pink glowsticks were handed out to light up Memorial Gardens during the anthem. Sponsorships from Sportsnet, MRB Finance, Symetrics, Andre Purcell-Century 21 and Cecils.
