We’re just one week away from the start of the Meridian Canadian Open in Yorkton, SK!

The fourth event — and third major — of the 2015-16 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season makes a return trip to the Gallagher Centre from Dec. 8-13.

Get your bracket predictions ready as the Meridian Canadian Open features a unique triple knockout stage where teams must win three games before they lose three in order to qualify for the playoffs.

A full house at the Gallagher Centre last season saw Brad Gushue, of St. John’s, N.L., edge Saskatoon’s Steve Laycock 6-5 in the men’s final while Scotland’s Eve Muirhead topped Ottawa’s Rachel Homan 5-3 to capture the inaugural Canadian Open women’s title.

A new incentive for this year is the winners of the Meridian Canadian Open will receive invites to the brand new Champions Cup, the season-ending Pinty’s GSOC event in Sherwood Park, AB. The Champions Cup features all of the top winners from the curling season including Pinty’s GSOC champs, Brier and Scotties winners, world junior champions and more!
