Team Bio
John Epping won his first Grand Slam title while playing second for legendary skip Wayne Middaugh. Epping moved on to skip his own squad and captured his second Grand Slam at the 2012 Players’ Championship. Team Epping was the eighth and final seed of the tournament but overcame the odds for the victory.
Epping went on an undefeated 6-0 run through the 2015 Meridian Canadian Open for his second Grand Slam title as a skip and capped the phenomenal week shooting 100 percent in the final against Team Gushue.
Ryan Fry won the Brier, world silver medal and Olympic gold while playing for Team Jacobs. Altogether he has earned five Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling titles claiming one with Team Gushue and four with Jacobs. Fry joined his longtime friend Epping this season.
Mat Camm was a rising skip in the junior ranks winning the Ontario junior title in 2011 and finishing runner-up at the Canadian juniors. He won the Ontario Tankard in 2015 with skip Mark Kean and joined Epping later that year.
Brent Laing is one of the most decorated players in the game having won two world junior gold medals, three Briers and three world championships. Laing’s 16 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling titles is the most among non-skips and tied for second with Glenn Howard among all players. He represented Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
