Kevin Martin defeats Glenn Howard to win 2002 Canadian Open
THUNDER BAY, Ont. — Edmonton’s Kevin Martin doubled up on Glenn Howard, from Coldwater, Ont., 8-4 to win the 2002 Canadian Open title.
It’s the first Canadian Open championship for Martin, Don Walchuk, Carter Rycroft and Don Bartlett.
Team Martin jumped ahead 4-2 with a three-ender in the third followed by a steal of one in four.
Martin led 5-4 coming home and iced the game scoring another three points.
