Every team throws two draws to the button before each game. The total distance is used to determine which team starts the game with the hammer and also to break any ties in the standings.
Each player (lead, second, third and fourth) will throw two draws over the course of their four round-robin games. In the first two games, two different pairings must do the draw shot. Teams may change their pairings for games three and four. As long as each player ends up delivering two draws each.
The best six of eight results from all of the last shot draws will count toward the rankings.
