Gotta See It: McEwen makes shot of the year
It’s only the first Grand Slam of Curling event of the season but we already have the shot of the year courtesy of Winnipeg skip Mike McEwen.
Trailing 6-2 in the sixth end to Brad Gushue after the St. John’s team just scored four, McEwen capitalized with this amazing double raise in-off double to score four of his own and tie the game up.
Does that sound confusing? Well, just watch.
Gushue didn’t sink though as the team bounced right back in the seventh to score two and ran McEwen out of rocks in the eighth to win 8-6.
Still, McEwen’s shot was the talking point on social media among the curling world and even ESPN gave it a shout out. Here’s a sample of the reaction:
