Fleury recreates McEwen’s 2014 Masters sick shot
It was the “shot of the year” five days into the 2014-15 season and Team Fleury has recreated it with ease.
Flashback to the 2014 Masters men’s final with Mike McEwen down by four points to Brad Gushue with a circle-shot chance to knot it up. McEwen somehow pulled it off with a miraculous pinball takeout to score four and tie the game.
We added the “Magic Mike” challenge to our GSOC Sick Shot contest with the caveat that teams would earn 500 points if they could pull it off. We had our doubts so we also offered 250 points to teams who at least attempt the feat.
Team Fleury of Sudbury, Ont., came oh-so-close on their first attempt and kept at it until they pulled it off complete with a bald cap and red pants.
