Team Carruthers

Winnipeg, MB | Carruthers is still calling the shots for the squad but has slid over to third to accommodate new teammate and longtime pal McEwen at fourth stones. McEwen won seven Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling titles as a skip including the 2015 Masters in Truro, NS. The retooled roster captured its first tour title together earlier this month at the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard. McEwen’s old second Wozniak is filling in this week for Derek Samagalski.

Team Dunstone

Regina, SK | Dunstone is a two-time Canadian junior champion and two-time world junior bronze medallist. He threw fourth stones for Saskatoon’s Team Laycock last season and is now back to skipping with his all-new squad that makes its Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling debut at the Canadian Beef Masters. Moskowy previously played with Team Carruthers and captured the inaugural Humpty’s Champions Cup in 2016.

Team Edin

Karlstad, SWE | Team Edin has won three events in the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling capturing their trio of titles during the 2016-17 season. Edin’s victory at the 2016 Masters made history as his Swedish squad became the first non-Canadian men’s team to win a championship in the series. Edin is the reigning world champion and earned silver at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

Team Epping

Toronto, ON | Epping has won three Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling titles, all majors, and just needs a Canadian Beef Masters championship to complete a career Grand Slam. Lucky for him, he has new second Laing and lead Savill to show him the way. The duo captured the Masters a record six times during their decade playing with Team Howard.

Team Gunnlaugson

Morris, MB | Team Gunnlaugson captured the Tour Challenge Tier 2 title at the start of last season to earn a promotion into the elite ranks where they’ve stayed put since. They qualified for the playoffs at five Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling events last season. New second Neufeld won seven Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling titles with Team McEwen including the 2015 Masters in Truro, NS.

Team Gushue

St. John’s, NL | Team Gushue is the defending Canadian Beef Masters champion. The St. John’s, N.L., crew went through last season’s event undefeated posting a perfect 7-0 record. Gushue won his 11th title in the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling last month claiming the Princess Auto Elite 10.

Team Howard

Penetanguishene, ON | Howard is a winner of 14 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling events as a skip including a record six Masters championships. His son Scott has moved up to third this season with March, formerly with Team Epping, coming on board at lead. Team Howard wrapped up last season finishing runner-up at the Humpty’s Champions Cup.

Team Jacobs

Sault Ste. Marie, ON | Jacobs has won three titles in the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling with his first coming at the 2015 Players’ Championship. They are the 2013 Brier champions and world silver medallists plus 2014 Olympic gold medallists. Jacobs was a semifinalist at the Princess Auto Elite 10 to start the 2018-19 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season.

Team Koe

Calgary, AB | Koe and Hebert are the only holdovers from last year’s Canadian Olympic Team with new third Neufeld and second Flasch. Koe has won five titles in the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling with his first as a skip coming at the 2012 Masters. Neufeld is a winner of seven championships in the series including the 2015 Masters held in Truro, NS.

Team Mouat

Edinburgh, SCO | Team Mouat broke out on tour last season winning four titles including their first Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling championship at the Boost National. That victory was a first for a Scottish men’s team in the series and Mouat also made history becoming the youngest men’s skip to capture a Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling title at age 23. Team Mouat also earned bronze for Scotland at the world championship.

Team Murphy

Halifax, NS | Team Murphy received a sponsor’s exemption to enter as the 15th and final men’s team for the Canadian Beef Masters. Murphy is a five-time Nova Scotia champion and has represented the province at the past three Tim Hortons Brier tournaments. The team made the championship pool at the Brier last season but missed the Page playoffs with a 5-6 record.

Team Paterson

Glasgow, SCO | Paterson made his Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling skip debut with his new squad last month at the Princess Auto Elite 10. Waddell previously played with Team Smith and represented Great Britain at the Pyeongchang Winter Games. Goodfellow also has Olympic experience capturing silver for Great Britain in 2014 at the Sochi Winter Games.

Team Schwaller

Bern, SUI | The Swiss squad makes its Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling debut at the Canadian Beef Masters. Schwaller is the 2014 world junior champion and 2015 world junior silver medallist. He captured his first World Curling Tour title last month at the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard.

Team Shuster

Duluth, USA | It was a “Miracurl on Ice” at the Pyeongchang Winter Games as Team Shuster became the first American club to capture Olympic gold. After falling to a 2-4 round-robin record, Shuster didn’t lose another game and won five straight en route to the top of the podium. Plys is a new addition to the crew as third Tyler George stepped back from competitive curling after last season.

Team Walstad

Oppdal, NOR | Walstad, who is the winner of the 2015 Winter University Games, has played in only one Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling event previously but left his mark finishing runner-up to Team Gushue at the 2017 Tour Challenge Tier 1. The club has represented Norway at the past two world championships. Walstad also skipped Norway to gold at the 2015 world mixed championship.
