Sinclair defeated Nina Roth 6-4 in the women’s final to capture her first national title.

“I’m so excited for the Champions Cup,” Sinclair said in a media release. “That’s what we were playing for here today and we wanted that real bad because it’s such a good opportunity. It’s a huge stepping stone. It opens the door for so many more opportunities.”

The Blaine, Minn., team of Sinclair, third Alexandra Carlson, second Vicky Persinger and lead Monica Walker topped the round-robin table with a 6-1 record to secure a direct spot in the championship game.

Meanwhile, Shuster claimed his sixth career men’s national championship scoring a single in the 10th end on a clutch draw to the four-foot circle to edge Todd Birr 8-7.

The Duluth, Minn., team of Shuster, third Tyler George, second Matt Hamilton and lead John Landsteiner ran the table posting a perfect 11-0 overall record.
