Tour Roundup: McEwen wins ATB Okotoks Classic

Saskatoon’s Team Mike McEwen posted a perfect 6-0 record to capture the ATB Okotoks Classic in Okotoks, Alta.

McEwen capped the undefeated run with a 5-2 victory over Team John Shuster of the United States during Sunday’s final.

It’s the second tour title win of the season already for McEwen, who claimed the Saville Shootout in Edmonton two weeks ago.

Elsewhere on tour, South Korea’s Team Eun-ji Gim won the Hack2House Alberta Curling Series Women’s Major in Beaumont, Alta.

Gim doubled up on Team Kate Cameron of St. Adolphe, Man., 6-3 in the final.

Japan’s Team Miyu Ueno took the Mother Club Fall Curling Classic women’s title in Winnipeg.

Ueno topped Team Krista McCarville of Thunder Bay, Ont., 6-2 in the final.

Team Ethan Sampson of the United States earned the men’s title with a 3-2 win over Winnipeg’s Team Riley Smith.

Team John Epping of Sudbury, Ont., won the KW Fall Classic after edging Japan’s Team Riku Yanagisawa 4-3 in an extra end during the men’s final in Waterloo, Ont.

Team Breanna Rozon of Oshawa, Ont., picked up the women’s title with a 6-3 win over South Korea’s Team Eun-jung Kim.

Overseas, Switzerland’s Team Silvana Tirinzoni topped Sweden’s Team Anna Hasselborg 8-3 to claim the Women’s Masters Basel title in Switzerland.

Scotland’s Team Cameron Bryce beat Sweden’s Team Fredrik Nyman 7-4 to win the Match Town Trophy in Jonkoping, Sweden.
