Tour Roundup: Hasselborg takes Oslo Cup
Anna Hasselborg and her Swedish squad claimed a third consecutive Oslo Cup women’s title.
Team Hasselborg topped Switzerland’s Team Xenia Schwaller 8-3 during Sunday’s final.
Hasselborg finished the tournament with an unblemished record. Her team went 5-0 through pool play and also shut out Denmark’s Team Madeleine Dupont 7-0 in the semifinals.
Switzerland’s Team Marco Hösli captured the men’s title after scoring two points in the eighth end to edge Sweden’s Team Niklas Edin 6-5 in the final.
Hösli also completed an undefeated run through the event.
ICEBREAKER CHALLENGE
Saskatoon’s Team Ashley Thevenot blanked Calgary’s Team Kayla Skrlik 4-0 to win the Icebreaker Challenge women’s title Sunday in Morris, Man.
Thevenot, who has moved up to skip after Skylar Ackerman stepped back, won six straight games including an 8-3 victory over Skrlik to kick off the event.
Team Chase Sinnett defeated Team Ethan Sampson 4-2 in the all-American men’s final.
ARGO GRAPHICS CUP
Team Momoha Tabata stole a single in the eighth end to beat Team Sasuki Fujisawa 5-4 on home ice and take the Argo Graphics Cup on Saturday night in Kitami, Japan.
South Korea’s Seungyoun Ha defeated Japan’s Team Ikue Kitazawa 5-3 in the third-place game.
