The 411 on the Humpty’s Champions Cup

The field is just about set for the inaugural Humpty’s Champions Cup.

Featuring all of the top winners from around the world in one final showdown, the Humpty’s Champions Cup closes out the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season April 26 to May 1 in Sherwood Park, AB.

“It’s an event we wanted to play in, and to wrap a spot this early in the year, it takes a little bit of pressure off and we’re really looking forward to it,” Team Koe third Marc Kennedy said after winning the Tour Challenge in September. “That’s really close to home for me in Sherwood Park so it’ll be a good time.”

“I think it’s going to be an awesome event,” added Edmonton native Joanne Courtney, who throws second stones for Team Homan. “It sounds like a really exciting concept. I’m excited to have the world junior champs there. I just think it’s going to be a really unique thing and it’s great that we’ve booked our spot there.”

With a $200,000 purse on the line, the Humpty’s Champions Cup is sure to feature an epic battle among the curling elite.
