Team Flaxey heading in different directions after season
Allison Flaxey’s team is splitting up after the season.
The Caledon, Ont., club of Flaxey, third Clancy Grandy, second Lynn Kreviazuk and lead Morgan Court made the announcement Sunday on social media.
After 3 years together, we will be heading in different directions next year. Team Flaxey went on a tear at the 2016 Masters to capture their first career Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling title. It was also Flaxey’s first time qualifying for the playoffs in the series stealing four points in three ends to beat Kerri Einarson in a tiebreaker.
Steals were also key in Flaxey’s victories over EunJung Kim in the quarterfinals and Silvana Tirinzoni in the semifinals to reach the championship game against three-time Masters victor Rachel Homan. A four-ender in the fifth powered Flaxey past Homan and into the winner’s circle.

Flaxey, who also won the 2014 Ontario Scotties title, finished at the bottom of the table at December’s Canadian Olympic curling trials with a 1-7 round-robin record.
