We’re taking a look at the teams set to compete in the inaugural Syncrude Elite 10, the fourth stop on the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling series, highlighting a different rink each day leading up to the event. Today’s profile: Team Reid Carruthers.

Reid Carruthers and his all-new rink have been rising up the ranks on the World Curling Tour this season.
Carruthers has competed in two Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling events this season and qualified for the playoffs at both, including an impressive 5-0 start at the National in November. They captured their first World Curling Tour title together at the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard in October.
Team Carruthers continued to make a splash at the Safeway Championship in February beating Team McEwen in the final to represent Manitoba at the 2015 Tim Hortons Brier.

Carruthers spent the previous four seasons on Jeff Stoughton’s team. While playing on the front end, Carruthers won the Brier and world titles in 2011 and the National Grand Slam in 2013. He returned to the skip role this year reuniting with Derek Samagalski and bringing aboard Braeden Moskowy and Colin Hodgson.
