It’ll be the second consecutive season and third time in four years Sault Ste. Marie has hosted the event. Brad Jacobs made it a homecoming to remember last year as the reigning Olympic champion won his second career Grand Slam title defeating Winnipeg’s Reid Carruthers in an electric final.
Meanwhile, Winnipeg’s Kerri Einarson captured her first elite-level Grand Slam championship with a victory over Silvana Tirinzoni in the women’s final.
The National is one of the original four events in the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling dating back to the inaugural 2001-02 season.
