Muirhead, Fleury secure final Tour Challenge playoff spots

PARADISE, N.L. — Scotland’s Eve Muirhead and Tracy Fleury of Sudbury, Ont., advanced to the Tour Challenge quarterfinals with identical 5-4 victories in the tiebreakers Saturday morning at the Paradise Double Ice Complex.

Both Muirhead and Fleury stole the winning points in the eighth end. Muirhead edged reigning Olympic gold medallist Jennifer Jones of Winnipeg and Fleury clipped Calgary’s Chelsea Carey.
