McEwen to sub at lead on Team Einarson for KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup
Dawn McEwen will be coming out of retirement to spare at lead for Kerri Einarson’s team during next week’s KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup in Regina.
Team Einarson lead Briane Harris will be away on maternity leave as she’s due to give birth in June.
McEwen, who has won eight titles in the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling series, stepped back from the sport at the end of last season. She also won five Scotties Tournament of Hearts titles, two world championships plus an Olympic gold medal while playing lead for Jennifer Jones.
The KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup runs Tuesday, May 2, through to Sunday, May 7, at the Co-operators Centre featuring 12 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams that have won tournament titles.
The reigning champions Team Einarson begin their title defence during the third draw on the opening night against Isabelle Ladouceur’s club.
