Glenn Howard to coach Team Cameron at Scotties Tournament of Hearts
Glenn Howard will coach Kate Cameron’s Manitoba team at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Feb. 14–23 in Thunder Bay, Ont.
The team made the announcement Saturday on social media.
“We are so thrilled to welcome Glenn Howard in joining our team at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts,” the team said. “We can’t wait to have his knowledge and expertise alongside us throughout our time in Thunder Bay!”
Howard coached Chelsea Carey’s team earlier this season and has been on the bench in the past for teams skipped by Eve Muirhead, Jennifer Jones, and his son, Scott Howard.
He won the Brier and world championship four times: twice while playing third for his brother, Russ Howard, and twice as a skip.
The 62-year-old from Tiny, Ont., retired from competitive curling at the end of last season.
Cameron claimed the Manitoba provincial title last month to book a spot in the national championship. Her team includes third Taylor McDonald, second Brianna Cullen and lead Mackenzie Elias.
