Glenn Howard joins Team Muirhead as tactical coach
Four-time world champion Glenn Howard will be working double duty this upcoming season.
The Penetanguishene, Ont., native was named the tactical coach for Scotland’s Team Eve Muirhead on Wednesday.
Howard, a winner of 16 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling titles, will continue to skip his own team while balancing his new role working with skip Eve Muirhead, third Anna Sloan, second Vicki Adams, and new lead Lauren Gray.
“It is a massive boost to have Glenn Howard joining our team,” Muirhead said in a Red Sky Management release. “Having won four world championships he is a legend in the sport and someone I have always looked up to.
“His track record in the game demonstrates his calibre at the top level while he is still actively competing, which means we can have complete confidence that his tactical knowledge is 100 per cent up to date. That is exactly what we are looking for to help us build on the success we have already achieved.”

Team Muirhead parted ways with coach David Hay earlier this year and made a lineup change during the off-season with Gray replacing Sarah Reid at the lead position for 2016-17.
Howard, who won his 16th Ontario Tankard title this past season, also made a roster switch to his squad bringing in David Mathers at second.
