Field taking shape for Canadian Olympic curling trials

The field is just about finalized for the Montana’s Canadian Curling Trials to decide who will wear the maple leaf next year at the Milan-Cortina Olympics.

Curling Canada announced Tuesday that five men’s teams and five women’s teams secured spots based on the Canadian Team Ranking System (CTRS) standings following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.

Team Rachel Homan (2024 Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion) and Team Kerri Einarson (2023-24 CTRS leader), plus Team Brad Gushue (2024 Montana’s Brier champion) and Team Brad Jacobs (2023-24 CTRS leader) had already locked up berths based on their performances last season.

One spot is still up for grabs on each side, to be determined at the Home Hardware Canadian Curling Pre-Trials, Oct. 20-26, in Wolfville, N.S.

The Montana’s Canadian Curling Trials take place Nov. 22-30 in Halifax.
