European winner Mouat makes Champions Cup list

Scotland’s Team Bruce Mouat is the latest to secure a spot for the Humpty’s Champions Cup.

Mouat added his name to the list for the season-ending Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling event by capturing the European Championships gold medal Saturday in Tallinn, Estonia.

Scotland scored two in the eighth end and stole three in the 10th to defeat Sweden, skipped by Niklas Edin, 9-5 in the men’s final.

Teams must win a high-profile tournament to receive an invitation to the Humpty’s Champions Cup taking place April 23-28, 2019, at Saskatoon’s Merlis Belsher Place. Full-event packages are now available at a special early bird price.

Mouat, 24, made his Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling debut at the inaugural Humpty’s Champions Cup in 2016 after winning the world junior championship. The team of Mouat, third Grant Hardie, second Bobby Lammie and lead Hammy McMillan Jr. captured their first Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling title last season at the Boost National with Mouat making history as the youngest men’s skip to win a championship in the series.
