Team Gushue have had a stellar season winning six tour titles plus their provincial championship to sit in first place on the year-to-date wCT rankings. They’ve reached the final at three of the four Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling events played so far this season and also lead the men’s division in the Rogers Grand Slam Cup standings.

Brad Gushue earned his fourth career Grand Slam title at the National in November defeating Reid Carruthers in the final. Mark Nichols has five Grand Slam titles to his name having also won the National in 2013 while playing with Jeff Stoughton.

Gushue and Nichols recently marked the 10th anniversary of their gold medal victory at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.

Entering the Elite 10, Gushue will be fresh off of representing Newfoundland and Labrador for a 13th time in his career at the Tim Hortons Brier.

Team Gushue was the “home crowd” favourite in Fort McMurray, Alta., for the inaugural Elite 10 a year ago. Gushue qualified for the playoffs but fell to eventual champion Mike McEwen during the quarterfinals.

The 2016 Elite 10 runs March 17-20 at the Q Centre at West Shore Parks & Recreation in Victoria with live coverage on Sportsnet.
