The reigning world champions from Sweden spent the first half of the curling season based in Ottawa to better prepare themselves for the year ahead.

Team Edin returned across the pond in November to successfully defend the European Championship title. The win also earned them spot for the season-ending Humpty’s Champions Cup event.

They’ve qualified for the playoffs at two Pinty’s GSOC events this season reaching the quarterfinals at the Masters and the Meridian Canadian Open, both times losing to Team Koe.

Edin will represent Sweden at the world men’s curling championship next month in Basel, Switzerland.

Edin finished runner-up at the inaugural Elite 10 a year ago to match his personal-best Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling result. The Sochi Olympics bronze medallist was also a finalist at the 2011 Players’ Championship where he became the first non-Canadian male skip to reach the final of a Grand Slam event.

The Elite 10 runs March 17-20 at the Q Centre at West Shore Parks & Recreation in Victoria with live coverage on Sportsnet.
