The Saskatoon team finished runner-up in provincial playdowns after representing Saskatchewan at the Tim Hortons Brier during the past three seasons. Laycock was a finalist at the 2005 National in Port Hawkesbury throwing lead stones for Pat Simmons.

Laycock was a semifinalist at the Elite 10 a year ago falling to Team Gushue in a draw-to-the-button shootout.

The Princess Auto Elite 10 starts Thursday and runs through to Sunday at the Civic Centre in Port Hawkesbury, N.S.
