Humpty’s Champions Cup: All you need to know
The Tour Challenge is just the beginning of the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling’s expansion for 2015-16.
Another all-new event is on the horizon bringing together the best teams from around the world in one final tournament to close out the season: the Humpty’s Champions Cup.
Featuring all of the men’s and women’s winners on the Pinty’s GSOC season plus champions from select events including the Tim Hortons Brier, Scotties Tournament of Hearts and world championships, the inaugural Champions Cup is sure to feature an epic showdown among the curling elite with a $200,000 total purse on the line.
“The Champions Cup is a great new event that all of the top teams are extremely excited about,” said Team Koe’s Marc Kennedy, 2010 Olympic gold medallist and a 10-time Grand Slam champion. “Nobody wants to miss out on this one, so it gives us all more incentive to win a big event during the season. It will be an amazing event featuring the best of the best.”
The Humpty’s Champions Cup, running April 26 to May 1, 2016, will feature 15 men’s and 15 women’s teams in round-robin play with three pools of five team each.
