Briane Harris joins Team Cameron at third

Team Cameron has added Briane Harris to its lineup at third for next season, the Manitoba-based club announced Monday.

Harris previously played lead for Team Einarson, capturing four consecutive Scotties Tournament of Hearts titles (2020-23), back-to-back world women’s curling championship bronze medals (2022-23) and a total of four Grand Slam of Curling championships.

On the eve of last season’s Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Harris was informed she had tested positive for the banned substance Ligandrol. Harris was provisionally suspended, however, she was cleared to return to play in January after the Court of Arbitration for Sport determined she was not at fault.

Although Harris was eligible to return for last month’s Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Team Einarson had already set its lineup for the Canadian women’s curling championship before she was reinstated.

“This past year has brought its challenges, and while we did our best to navigate the circumstances, sometimes difficult situations can shift the direction of a team,” Team Einarson said in a statement. “As we move forward, we want to take a moment to thank Briane for her time with us. We appreciate the effort and dedication she has shown along the way.

“While Briane and Team Einarson have decided to part ways, we truly wish her all the best in her next chapter.”

Skip Kate Cameron, third Taylor McDonald and lead Mackenzie Elias parted ways with second Brianna Cullen after finishing last month’s Scotties Tournament of Hearts with a 4-4 record.

McDonald will move back to second with Harris coming on board.

Team Cameron, ranked No. 23 in the world, earned bronze at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts last season.
