We’re profiling all 24 teams, one per day, to get ready for the return of the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling leading up to the start of the Humpty’s Champions Cup.

Day 24: Team Hasselborg

Home club: Sundbybergs CK; Sundbyberg, Sweden

Team Hasselborg have claimed five women’s titles in the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling series including the past three events taking the 2019 KIOTI Tractor Tour Challenge, 2019 BOOST National and 2020 Meridian Canadian Open.

Coincidentally, the only two they haven’t won are the Humpty’s Champions Cup and the Princess Auto Players’ Championship. A sweep would make history as no women’s team has accomplished the feat of winning all events in the series plus set a record for most consecutive women’s titles won. No pressure!

Hasselborg captured Olympic gold for Sweden at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Games and earned back-to-back silver medals at the women’s worlds in 2018 and 2019. The team has competed in the past four European Championships women’s finals with consecutive gold medals in 2018 and 2019.

Team Hasselborg finished runners-up in the 2019 Players’ Championship to Team Einarson. They also reached the semifinals of the 2019 Humpty’s Champions Cup with Eve Muirhead subbing at skip as Hasselborg was away doing what else but winning more gold capturing the world mixed doubles championship with Oskar Eriksson.
