The field has been finalized and the schedules are set for the HearingLife Tour Challenge, Oct. 1-6, at Charlottetown’s Bell Aliant Centre.

A total of 64 teams from around the world will hit the rinks, both of them, at the Bell Aliant Centre for the largest event on the Grand Slam of Curling circuit featuring two tiers of action.

The HearingLife Tour Challenge will feature triple knockout play where teams must win three games before they lose three games to qualify for the playoffs. Eight teams in each division advance to the quarterfinals.

Qualification for the HearingLife Tour Challenge was based on the World Curling Federation’s team rankings from the final standings of the 2023-24 season.

Team Joël Retornaz took the top seed for the Tier 1 men’s division and the Italian club is also the defending champion after claiming the title a year ago in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Retornaz kicks things off by taking on No. 16 Team Korey Dropkin of the United States in the opening draw.

Canada’s Team Rachel Homan holds the top seed in the Tier 1 women’s division and faces No. 16 Team Delaney Strouse of the United States in the third draw.

Tier 2 features the next ranked group of teams, including Charlottetown’s own Team Tyler Smith, with the winners earning invitations to the WFG Masters (Jan. 14-19, 2025; Guelph, Ontario).

Broadcast coverage to be announced.
