The Curling Group Welcomes Celebrated Journalist Devin Heroux as Head of Content

APRIL 07, 2025 (TORONTO) The Curling Group (TCG) is adding to its roster, welcoming award-winning journalist Devin Heroux to the editorial team as Head of Content and Chief Correspondent. In this new role, Heroux will bring his expertise to deliver top-tier storytelling and breaking news to curling fans across TCG’s digital platforms and streaming services, including comprehensive coverage of the Grand Slam of Curling.

Heroux begins his new role tonight, acting as commentator for the Rio Mare Battle of the Sexes, at 7 p.m. ET on the Grand Slam of Curling websiteApp, and YouTube.

“Devin has truly earned his reputation as one of the most influential and respected journalists in Canada. His storytelling and passion for sport is infectious,” said Nic Sulsky, co-founder and CEO, The Curling Group. “Having Devin join TCG in a full-time capacity will strengthen and evolve our editorial reach, bringing curling fans more ways to connect with the sport they love.”

Throughout his career as a multi-platform reporter, Heroux has gained recognition for his coverage of both amateur and professional sports, with a particular emphasis on curling. Renowned for his empathetic storytelling, he started his career in 2010 with CBC Saskatchewan in his hometown of Saskatoon, SK. In 2016, he joined CBC News, followed by a move to CBC Sports a year later.

“I was first captivated by curling during the 1998 Olympics, watching Saskatchewan’s Team Schmirler win gold for Canada in Nagano. That experience made me realize how much this sport can mean to people and place,” Heroux said. “Curlers are the most accessible athletes to media and the fans — now we’re going to elevate the audience experience, covering this sport in a way it’s never been done before.”

Heroux’s reporting of the Paris 2024 Olympic Summer Games earned him the King Charles III Coronation Medal, given to Canadians who have made a significant contribution to their country at home or abroad.

Heroux will continue to play a key role in CBC Sports’ coverage, sharing stories of Canadian and international athletes at the biggest athletic competitions, including the Winter and Summer Olympic Games.
