Team Bio
A sensational start to the 2016-17 season winning three titles on the World Curling Tour helped Casey Scheidegger earn her first ticket to a top-tier Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling event at the Meridian Canadian Open. Scheidegger sure didn’t disappoint. After falling to the C bracket of the triple knockout, Scheidegger went on a stunning run winning five consecutive games — including a shocking 5-4 victory on a steal in the eighth end over Team Tirinzoni in the final — to capture the Meridian Canadian Open title.
Scheidegger and her sister, Jessie Haughian, won the Alberta junior title together in 2009 and were semifinalists at junior nationals falling to eventual champion Manitoba, skipped by Kaitlyn Lawes.
Cary-Anne McTaggart joined Team Scheidegger in 2014 after previously playing with Renee Sonnenberg.
Kristie Moore served as the alternate for Team Canada, skipped by Cheryl Bernard, at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and earned a silver medal. She captured the Canadian junior and world junior titles while playing second for Heather Nedohin. Moore also won the Alberta provincial championship with Nedohin in 2000 and skipped her own squad to the title in 2013. She linked up with Team Scheidegger starting at the 2017 Players’ Championship.
Team Scheidegger defeated defending champs Team Kleibrink in the provincial final to represent Alberta at the 2018 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Scheidegger made it to the championship round but just missed the playoffs finishing in fifth place with a 7-4 record. They returned to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in 2019 not as Alberta but as the Wild Card after defeating Team Einarson for the final spot.
