Kaitlyn Jones to skip new team in Nova Scotia

Former world junior champion Kaitlyn Jones will skip a new team back in Nova Scotia next season.

Jones announced last week she has joined forces with third Jessica Daigle, second Brigitte MacPhail, lead Lindsey Burgess and fifth Kaitlin Fralic for 2020-21.

The 22-year-old Jones, who has curled out of five different provinces, found her greatest success in Nova Scotia capturing Canadian junior and world junior titles in 2018. Jones, from Ottawa, returned to Ontario last year and skipped the Humber Hawks to the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association gold medal while also earning championship MVP and first-team all-star honours at the provincial tournament. She also skipped a team on tour with third Alli Flaxey, second Clancy Grandy and lead Morgan Lavell.

It’s a reunion for Jones and Burgess, who threw lead stones on the 2018 junior championship squad.

Daigle and MacPhail played together last season with skip Mary Myketyn-Driscoll out of Halifax and tied for fifth place at provincials.
