Jacobs joins Team Carruthers full-time for 2023-24 season

Brad Jacobs has passed his audition with Team Carruthers.

Jacobs was slated to sub at third on the Winnipeg-based club for the remainder of the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season after they parted ways with Jason Gunnlaugson in December.

The seven-time Grand Slam men’s champion from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., will be sticking around after the year ends though as Team Carruthers announced on March 16 that Jacobs will join them for the 2023-24 campaign as well.

“Brad brings so much experience to the team and we have already enjoyed playing with him in a Grand Slam of Curling event earlier this year,” the team said in a statement. “We look forward to our future together and to finishing off the season with Brad at the Grand Slam of Curling Players’ Championship and Champions Cup.”

Jacobs’ tenure with the team began at the Co-op Canadian Open in January.

The Princess Auto Players’ Championship runs April 11-16 in Toronto and the season ends with the KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup, May 2-7, in Regina.
