Two tiers, 30 teams, 15 teams in each tier, round-robin play featuring three pools of five in each tier (applies to both men’s and women’s events).
Tier 1: The top 15 men’s and women’s teams based on WCF World Team Rankings rankings as of Oct. 1, 2019, will be invited to participate.
Tier 2: Once the Tier 1 field has been confirmed, on Oct. 8, an additional 10 invitations will be extended based on WCF World Team Rankings beyond the Tier 1 field. To complete the Tier 2 field, five regional invitations will be extended at the discretion of the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling to teams within the province or region that the event is being held.
The winners of the Tier 2 event will receive a bye to the Meridian Canadian Open complete with all travel and accommodation expenses covered for the four players on the team. We will seed the pools as per the rankings on Oct. 15.
