Draw schedule, triple knockout brackets set for BOOST National

Newly minted world No. 1 Team Tracy Fleury will take on Team Corryn Brown in the first round of triple knockout action at the BOOST National.

The Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling announced the draw schedule and revealed the triple knockout brackets Tuesday for its second event of the season running Nov. 2-7 at Chestermere Recreation Centre in Chestermere, Alberta.

Team Fleury, from East St. Paul, Man., ascended to the top of the WCF world team rankings after successfully defending the Masters this past Sunday in Oakville, Ontario. Fleury will face Brown, the reigning B.C. women’s champion from Kamloops, during Draw 4 next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. MT.

The BOOST National features 16 of the top men’s teams and 16 of the top women’s teams from around the world with a $300,000 CAD prize purse. Teams are also competing for bonus points towards the Pinty’s Cup, awarded to the season champions in the series, plus berths to the season-ending KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup.

New for the BOOST National in 2021, the triple knockout consists of three brackets: A, B and C. Teams must win three games in order to qualify for the playoffs. Each loss drops a team to a lower bracket until they lose three games and are out of the tournament. Two A teams (3-0 records), three B teams (3-1 records) and three C teams (3-2 records) in both divisions advance to the quarterfinals.

Full event and weekend passes plus single draw tickets are available for the BOOST National. To purchase your tickets online, please visit boost.goigniter.com.
